Tonga to stregthen Worldwide marine cooperation

Tonga for the primary time, attended the 2022 Korea Worldwide Cooperation Convention on Oceans and Fisheries (KICCOF), on the Grand Pacific Lodge, Suva, Fiji, from 23-24 November.

The convention was aimed to strengthen the connection between the Pacific Islands Nations and the Republic of Korea.

The Ministry of Lands and Pure Assets in Tonga reported that this was the primary time Tonga had participated within the collaboration platform. A number of different Pacific States, together with Fiji, Samoa, Tuvalu, Solomons, Nauru, Micronesia and Kiribati had beforehand attended. The convention was hosted by the Fiji Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) and arranged by Korea Maritime Institute.

He mentioned the host Ministry had indicated collaboration by means of Official Improvement Help (ODA), to construct up Marine Scientific Analysis, in evaluation of submarine volcanoes, seabed mineral exploration, ocean thermal power conversion.
